THE RENAISSANCE OF A (TRUE) ICON
In 1971, S.T. Dupont received a special order: Jackie Onassis wanted a ballpoint pen to match her lighter. The company did not manufacture writing instruments but decided to take up the challenge. S.T. Dupont’s craftsmen were inspired by the brass
and design of its Ligne 1. They transposed the vertical metal guilloche of the lighter mechanism onto the barrel of a pen. All the expertise of the company’s goldsmiths was then called upon to develop the first S.T. Dupont pen.
More than 50 years later, S.T. Dupont is introducing a new version of the first ever luxury writing instrument. The 1970s design icon is now slimmer, unisex and more ergonomic, while preserving the features that made it so elegant and timeless.
